Before training to become a product designer, I worked in various customer service and support roles spanning 14 years. 3 of those years working as a computer sales associate at my university bookstore, learning the basics of customer service, creating and facilitating "Mac 101" one on one and group classes for customers, as well as designing marketing and signage material for the bookstore campaigns.
For 7 years I worked at Apple, where I further honed my customer service skills, especially that of conflict management and using my natural empathy to listen to and assist customers.
Most recently, I worked for Best Buy Premium as an In-Home Senior Consultant, designing and creating proposals for premium home theaters, audio, appliances, and more for my book of clientele. This role pushed me further than any before with meeting sales goals, and most importantly, personalizing each interaction and solution to the client.
In 2023 Best Buy downsized their nationwide consultant team by 70%. I was part of this group. This opened up an opportunity for me to finally pursue UX Design and use my skills that I've honed over the last 14 years in customer service and support, combined with my talents as an artist. I'm excited where the future takes me as I solve new problems with my curiosity and creativity.
